What is home? Depending on the philosophical school, it can be a place of authenticity, belonging and solidarity or origin. Whatever it is, Priska Müller feels a deep connection to home and carries it with her in her everyday life.
Priska Müller's story is rooted in the picturesque climes of Beatenberg, where the rugged mountain peaks embrace Lake Thun. Even though her physical presence has spanned other places for two decades, Beatenberg remains her true home. An invisible fiber continues to connect her to the community of her origins. It's not that she doesn't feel at home in her current "home", but it's also difficult to describe what it is that makes her feel at home, says Priska. It is certainly the people, especially her family, but also growing up with all the experiences embedded in the beautiful landscape around Lake Thun. She feels at home here.
Taking care of people
Her professional passion reflects Priska's dedication. As Senior Payroll Specialist at beyond gravity, she ensures that all employees receive their wages on time and that all social security issues are resolved. Clarity and precision are crucial for her - she doesn't like vagueness or gray areas. Her daily motivation, it seems, is to look after the well-being of her employees so that they can concentrate on their work with peace of mind.
Her focus used to be on looking after the guests in the restaurant. As a trained service specialist, she was passionate about ensuring that guests enjoyed their visit to the restaurant. Her move to the office was sudden and unexpected, driven by her personal interest in HR, social security and opportunity issues. She is happy to share the knowledge she has accumulated in the meantime, which is much appreciated by those around her and she is always happy to ask for advice. She does not yet know whether this move to the office will be permanent, as she is still fascinated by the hospitality industry.
Enthusiastic about skiing and the mountain
Away from the office, Priska's heart beats for the world of skiing. On the one hand, she is already on the slopes at the first sign of snow - preferably in Saas-Fee. On the other hand, she
She doesn't just watch the World Cup on TV, but is regularly on site and passionately cheers on the racers. For her, it's all about the atmosphere, the experience and the community: "You get to know each other over time - riders and fans, you're a community and you celebrate together," says Priska. Who ultimately wins is secondary, being there and experiencing the race with other people is the main thing. So she actually supports all the riders, because "they all do a fantastic job" and deserve to be cheered on. And yet, when Priska talks about Peter Fill, a former Italian ski racer, she does get a little enthusiastic. Being a fan of an Italian and non-Swiss racer as a Swiss native? For Priska, this is not a contradiction in terms, because it is ultimately about the person, the performance and the sport, not the nationality.
You feel at home with Priska
And finally this: Priska and her partner are home to ten tortoises. A few years ago, she had five and was surprised by offspring. But actually, as she says, turtles don't have any offspring in Switzerland. This is exemplified by one thing about Priska: she spreads warmth. She enjoys being part of a community, cares for it and looks after its well-being. And so it is not surprising that people feel really comfortable in her presence, whether they are humans or tortoises.
